A glimpse into my relationship with this compassionate art
Zen Shiatsu has been part of my life for 10 years, and I have loved meeting everyone that has passed through my door, wanting to relax, and experience the essence of Shiatsu.
I'm looking forward to the next 10 years, I'll be 65, but I'm sure I'll still have the enthusiasm.
There is a phrase that says, “People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or for life.” It speaks to the purpose relationships can serve, whether brief yet meaningful, lasting for a time, or growing into something lifelong. This phrase encompasses three core elements that underpin my relationship with Zen Shiatsu.
A Reason
From my very first experience of Shiatsu, I knew it aligned with what I was seeking: a way to support people on multiple levels. It offers me the ability to provide care that truly meets you where you are, addressing your individual needs and supporting the main reason you come to see me.
A Season
The three years of study required to receive my diploma were not only about learning the possibilities of healing and well-being, but also a period of deep self-reflection and personal growth. This was a pivotal season in my life. In the same way, each Shiatsu treatment invites change, sometimes clearly felt, sometimes quietly unfolding over time, like the subtle yet powerful shift of the seasons.
For Life
Zen Shiatsu has become my lifelong bodywork practice, one I continue to explore with devotion and curiosity. The journey within this vast system is ongoing, and its depth and abundance continues to fuel my passion. This path calls for presence, humility, and dedication. Through the bodywork I offer, it is my intention to support your journey toward greater balance and an improved quality of life.
Shiatsu is both restorative and preventative. When received regularly, it helps maintain harmony, flexibility, and overall health, supporting both body and mind.
When we achieve inner harmony, its influence extends into every aspect of our lives. The body begins to function more smoothly, digestion becomes more balanced, sleep more restful, and energy levels more consistent throughout the day. At the same time, the mind settles, allowing stress and mental noise to soften. With this inner calm, our outlook naturally shifts; challenges feel less overwhelming, patience grows, and we respond rather than react. As mind and body come into deeper alignment, we create the conditions for lasting well-being.
